Well 5B was a total disaster. Poorly written and Taylor Sheridan made way too much of it about himself. What an obnoxious person in an obnoxious role. I don't really understand what the Beth/Rip spinoff would be about since they supposedly went somewhere that they weren't going to be bothered with all of the troubles that plagued the Yellowstone. They are obviously setting up the 4 6's spinoff, but based on the fact that that is TS's real life ranch I am sure that it is going to be all about him and I have no desire to watch a show where he is the center.
Throughout the series, Tyler Sheridan has been nothing but annoying. I HATE when writers inject themselves into the story. Tarantino has done it, with mixed results, Steven King has done it, et al.
The rumor that he's a jerk shows up well in the series where he appears.
Now, onto the show. My GF who had never saw any of the shows/series and I binged all three, in the order they were broadcast before watching the final 6 episodes of Yellowstone, finishing it last night.

Here are my thoughts...
Yellowstone, it's one of those shows where you're either entertained or you're connected. I felt connected. The show motivated me in real life to push through to my goals, no matter the obstacles. Just get it done. That's how herds are moved and that's how obstacles are dealt with in the show. Just do the job. I sat through every season thinking, as a young man, in that world, I could be successful and wrap my around around the whole thing.
The scenery is the dream I once had, when I was trucking, living in that part of the country, in a more remote area, the foothill mountains around me, a place like that to come home form the road to...
Both 1883 and Yellowstone were very successful at getting viewers very emotionally attached and affected.

I definitely wiped a few years away, over the final episodes.
To me, that's a successful show and story, when it triggers strong emotions.
However, I hate how it ended. I hate that it appears that the tribe is dismantling the entire ranch. I hate that the family failed at its number one objective: never losing the ranch. While the outcomes for Kayce and Beth/Ripp were positive, it still doesn't sit right with me. Even if the promise James made in 1883 came to pass.
Mostly, I hate Kevin Costner and the arrogant and selfish way he exited, refusing to finish out the series which forced the writing to take it in the direction it went.
Sometimes I wonder if actors ever watch a series the way the viewers do.
Watching it weekly is one thing. You come away with however the show affected you and then go on until next week.
Binge-watching, as many people do, takes you on a long and emotional roller-coaster through the story, where it becomes more like a movie. Drawn in for hours, escaping and displaced from the world. Skipping over the 2-year hiatus and going from episode 8 straight to 9, John Dutton alive and injected into the story to a bad body double playing his corpse was disappointing.
I thoroughly enjoyed Beth getting her vengeance on Jamie.
It's a show I'll miss but probably never watch again.
I'll definitely watch Season 2 of 1923 and the 6666 series but the former, only to complete the story of the Dutton family and the latter to see who makes a cameo. I don't expect the 6666 show will go very many seasons.
Too may people will probably be deflated by the ending of Yellowstone
