YouTubeTv and CBS/Paramount

I think I prefer it without CBS and Paramount because I already have Paramount+ and CBS local on my TiVo. I heard from a guy on YT that they would reduce the price by $8.00 if they are not able to reach a deal. Not sure if that is true, but if it is it would reduce the entry level price of YTTV, and people could add Paramount + CBS if they wanted it.
The $8 per month credit is true.

Get ready for another price hike.
Again, in the last two years, DirecTV, Charter and Comcast have had three increases, YTTV, just one.

Quite doubtful one new contract could have affected them that much, the increase could have been just a few cents more per subscriber.

On top of the last one they just had? Sounds like to me You tube TV has turned into streaming cable. No more use to me if they are fighting over locals again. Now if find a way to separate the locals from the rest of the channels and make then an add on , I can see them still being of some use. I still have TABLO for ota recording and don't need locals.

It wasn't just locals it was all Paramount owned channels like Comedy Central, Paramount network and a bunch of others. Plus it was all CBS locals even 3rd party owned locals as the networks negotiate carriage contracts for all locals including 3rd party owned locals with the streaming vMVPD services.

Still fighting over carriage of any channel makes it just like Cable /satellite. That is the reason why people went to streaming in the first place.

People that went over to streaming, using the on demand services, do not have to worry about contract disputes.

Still have CBS, both live and on demand via Paramount+.

Told by whom? Was there a warning on the YTTV page that said "Warning: our service is susceptible to carriage disputes just like your current cable company?"
When people went online whining about the dispute and claiming they were changing service so they wouldn't have to deal with it anymore other people that know better told them. Go look at reddit when their is a dispute with any service.

When you sub directly to CBS/Paramount+, who would the dispute be with?
3rd party owned local CBS affiliates. I questioned that on the previous page of this thread but people seem to think if those 3rd party locals wouldn't renew they would no longer be CBS affiliates. I am skeptical about that but I don't have a copy of their contract with Paramount+.
