Price Changes and HD packages on dish website

If UHD and Voom are in the $20 HD Ultimate pack, is anybody here going to send a "message" to E* by dropping down to the $10 HD Essentials package ?

I will be the first one to drop down to the essentials pack. There are people out there who all they care about is looking at a pretty high-def picture... content be damned.

I believe what point is a beautiful picture if what you're watching isn't interesting.

Before deciding to change to HD Essentials package, I am comparing:

#1: CNN Headline News and The Weather Channel versus Voom HDNews
#2: StarzCinema versus VoomWorld and VoomFilmFestival.
#3: OTA PBSHD versus VoomEquator
#4: OTA PBSHD versus VoomRave

My OTA PBSHD KET4 is not the National PBS feed.

DirecTV did the same thing recently. They created two HD tiers - one with the HD versions of and SD networks they carry, and an extra $4.99/mo one that has the "HD only" channels.

When they did that, HDNet sued them because D* was contractually obligated to keep HDNet in the lowest HD-enabled tier. They settled, and D* moved HDNet into the lower HD tier, and moved HDNet movies into the upper tier.

I'm guessing that E* has the same contractual obligation, so we'll *probably* see HDNet stay in the lower $10 package.

I doubt that's the $29.99 package ... The "fine print" seems to indicate that the offer "ends 1/31/2008".

Yeah it looks like that's the normal Top 100 package with the $20 HD price being given for free for 6 months. The fine print says the $20 HD price will go into effect after the free period is over.

I work at a regional retailer that carries Dish Network. A couple of weeks ago, the Dish sales rep was in the store and casually asked how much interest I thought there would be in an HD-only package for around $35. I suppose that is what the $29.99 package is (plus locals?). Unfortunately I couldn't get any more information out of him.

No, that's AT100 + DishHD. It's $29 for the 1st 6 months because they give you a $20 discount or credit.

P.S. Instead of pasting your image into MS Word, paste it into PAINT and save it as a JPG or GIF.
