Mini Bud, Coolsat how to add 4DTV

Hello, My 1.2 meter dish should be here monday to go on my HH120 motor with my CS5000.I also have a BSC621-2 C/Ku lnb for it. The coolsat willl run it all. My qustion is I have a DSR920 that I would like to add to the system.I know I will use the loop out from the CS5000 but I'm not sure how to hook it up to the 920. Do I need a splitter with a DC block to stop voltage from going to the CS5000? Any help will be great. Thanks Guys.

more information can probably be gained over in the c-band area. i'm new with the 4DTV's

ok the bsc621-2 is a universal lnbf the 4DTV doesn't like it
it will work with the bsc621
the 4DTV requires that you use a seperate coax for each c & ku
i do think it will control the polarity switching.

normally people have a c-band system and want to slave the coolsat off it.
your sitiation is the exact opposite from that. you have a FTA system and want to slave in a 4DTV

I don't think the loop out ( from the coolsat) is much of an option for you because of some of the information below.

i still think you would need to split the coax with the coolsat controling the motor controls and probably the polarity (heres why, the 4DTV can't control the motor but can control the polarity but if it has a dc block on it can't change the polarity)

A 1.2 meter dish is not very reliable for C-band, its fun for experimentation but not much else. You really need at least a six footer for C-band reception at minimum. With the 1.2, you may catch a few very strong transponders.

You would be able to get the X4 package for your DSR920 no problem since that is Ku only. You just need the Coolsat to turn the dish over to Galaxy 16 when you want 4DTV. For the DSR920, you'd need to set it up for a rotated90 Ku LNBF. Then it will do the voltage switching polarity. However, since you're feeding it from the output of the Coolsat, I don't believe that it will be able to control polarity. The coolsat would have to control polarity.

I'd probably drop dish if this would work for me with KU! (edit)I just looked at the prices... ekk they've gone up!!!!!!

Well it looks like another weeks wait to find out. Mounted my HH motor and dish using my old invacom universal lnb so I could get my arc perfect. Lined it up tp AMC5 my true south sat, scanned ,plenty of signal and channels, moved it to 103 scanned again,no problems,moved to G10 and dish stopped moving.Double checked everthing i could think possible even swapped recievers,still no movement. Oh well RMA time for Sandoun. I will try again when the next motor shows up.

My buddy got a 905 off ebay real cheap, he has SRL pick 10 pack running fine, he loaded the latest maps off my dish, he already cut his cable, he has no guide but said he does not mind, I told him he could get a guide off the internet.

He changed the battery on the 905 because it was a old one, so he should be good for about 7-10 years before he needs to change it again.

There is none on Galaxy-16 Ku-band.

I sub to HBO/Sho/Starz and get the HD feeds in the package, I have a 10' dish with 4dtv and the HDD 200/201.

On 4dtv you can also get Wealth TV HD and Discovery HD these are the main C-band distribution feeds.

I'll add to what tdti1 said, there are 8 (I know of) HD channels on 4dtv C-band. And a DSR920 won't get Wealth TV, but will get the other 7 HD channels.
