Random Thoughts: Week 10 in the National Football League!!!
1. So, Tim Tebow and John Skelton are 5-1 as starters. If winning is the only thing that matters, do these guys deserve to be full time starters in this league?
2. The Dream Team has turned into a nightmare. Hows come whenever teams try to stack the deck via free agency instead of through the draft/farm system, it almost never works?
3. Are the Bills having buyers remorse on the $59 million contract they prematurely gave to Fitzpatrick? Now that the rest of the league has game tape on the Bills, their offense can't move the ball whatsoever. As Dennis Green once said, "they are who we thought they were".
4. For the first time since divisions were realigned, all teams in the NFC West won in the same week. Wow.
5. So, Harbaugh has the Niners going pretty well, huh? Of every team in the NFC besides the Packers, the Niners look to be the only other truly legit teams.
6. As Jekyll and Hyde the Jets are, so are the Ravens.
7. It's not fair if the Colts end up with Andrew Luck. They sucked for 1 year and they hit the lottery? There are teams who have sucked for much longer and could use him.
8. When you're in the red zone with over 4 minutes to go, down 13-12, you don't run the ball 3 times to try and take time off the clock. You've GOT to put it in the endzone. Or at least try. There's just too much time, too much unpredictability to play so scared and conservative. Way to go Shermie. This loss has your name all over it. If it weren't for the Falcons coach, you'd be the dunce of the week. #Factory of Sadness.
9. Mike Smith decides to go for it on a fourth and short in overtime, deep in his own territory. Best case scenario: the Falcons convert the the 4th down and earn the opportunity to keep driving 75 more yards for a score. Worst case scenario: don't convert and enable the Saints to kick a chip shot FG for the win.
10. Attention NFL fans. The Houston Texans are for real. They are top 5 in both running and stopping the run. The formula for success in this league. Manning or no Manning, they'd are the class of the AFC South.
