yesterday i bought an hd receiver at walmart for 200 to bring the local channels in with the ota antenna from voom, i got it all hooked up and did a channel scan, and it didnt find no local channels at all , am i doing something wrong or should i take it back? thanks for your help

Did you get any local channels before with the OTA antenna? I bought the same box for my parents as a christmas present and it seems to work fine. Check antennaweb.org to see if you have any available locals and the direction the antenna needs to be pointed.

What brand of antenna is that? Most OTA antennas supplied by VOOM have a built-in preamp, which in a typical (diplexer) configuration is powered by VOOM STB. If you are going to use this antenna separetly, you may need to purchase a standalone power supply/power inserter.
