D* Killing E* now in HD

Wanting to be the Wal-mart of satellite TV is fine, but you aren't going to attract the folks who want the high end. So at the end of the day we might see the E* dishes dominating the trailer parks and rednecks in the sticks, with D* prevailing everywhere else.

People who make the kinds of observations that you are commenting on are usually speaking from experience, and usually with the faint taste of bile still stuck in the back of their throat from it.

Just an observation...

This thread is just the kind of "intellectually stimulating" discussion that is generated when posts are allowed to made in the wrong forums under the guise of the Freedom of Posting Act, which has been abused now for a couple of weeks. Supposedly this kind of posting occured over in the D* section by E* troublemakers in years past but I wouldn't know, I'm a long time E* customer and would have no need to ever venture over there for any reason.

Whatever...

This forum has lost a lot of its value for now at least. We will see if it ever recovers its former status of being helpful with the ability to have frank discussions when needed among common interest members.

I agree 8 bit; insted of everyone being excited, upbeat and positive for EVERY Satalite subscriber, which should be the mindset now that Direct TV is delivering on their long awaited promises, its just bringing out the poison in people.
I have loved this forum for the many years I have been coming here, but lately its turning into a poison pit, and I for one will start looking elsewhere for my satalite information and idea exchange..

so why lie to your own father? It's pretty easy to get a free dvr, i got 2, and I have never had 2 dishes since day one and I have been here with D* 7 years now.

Maybe I'm wrong. Please point me in the right direction to get a free HD DVR from D*.

Can you also show me which single dish will receive all HD programming and local channels which are at 72.5?

And as for the "bile" what is expected from a thread called "d* killing e* now in hd." they had it handed to them for years and then were allowed to make false promises in commercials for months that they are now being true. This is why competition is good for consumers, but unfortunately for E*'s ceo@ is busy courting buyers and not subscribers.
