Ok guys this is a rant I need to get off my chest and hopefully someone will have an idea or can atleast say hey I have that problem too.
First off let me give alittle background, I have had dish for almost 2 years and at this point I can not stand them. I have 3 rooms installed(322 dual tuner) and 1 DVR 510.
I have had several issues, but I will focus on my main and cureent issue.
My 510 seems to decide when it wants to reboot itself. I will come home to find my recorded shows in 1 minute parts. It will turn on and off 50 times in a row and then maybe not do it again for a few weeks. It is driving my family crazy.
So far these are the suggestions from Dish:
*Sent a replacement unit (does the same thing although tech support says that is very odd)
*Updates - Updated software and program guide (no help)
* Change the remote settings (no help)
*plug it up to a dropcord from another room (no help but hey now i can say i have a dropcord running through my house)
*Send a tech cause he can bring a new unit and check for problems (paid 35 dollars- tech showed up with his girlfriend and baby; walked around for 10 minutes playing with wires and didnt even have the right unit; backing out of my driveway he backed into my ditch and my driveway was tore up by the tow truck that had to pull him out - Dish's response sorry to hear that but you still have to pay the tech fee)
*Electrician checked my house out (everything is good and he could not find any issues)
At this point, we have told them they will either upgrade us to units that work or find a way to make ours work. I am tired of a 45 minute call to tech support so I can watch 30 minutes of tv split into 1 minute parts.
