Surprise, surprise. This was the best presentation I've seen on commercial TV. Commercials aside, it was very good. Of course you'd better not show c*** on a station owned by NBC Universal. COuld there be an HD master just waiting

A few days back, neither of these were in HD (the Guide info is generally accurate for Cinemax in terms of "(HD)" desingations.)

However, while they are upconverts, both are OAR because they are originally 4:3, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes looks quite good - it's a color film, a good print, and probably about as good as it is going to look without a true HD transfer. And, of course Marilyn Monroe. :

(I did not check out Duck Soup, since I own the DVD, but I highly recommend the film to anyone who has not seen it.)

Duck Soup is 4:3. I watched it not too long ago and it looked very good. Gotta love the Marx Brothers.
