I didn't want to hijack Scott's minibud thread so I started this one. Scott's thread got me into the mood of toying around with my redneck mounted 10 footer. I'd have to say I've been really impressed with this antenna. I think it only has a 50K LNB on it, but it works great! I've picked up everything I've wanted to without even having to sink a pole in the ground yet.
I took drhydro's suggestion of finding Spike TV on G10R. I brought the TV and the analog receiver outside after the little bit of rain we had this evening. It made for a decent evening for FTA'ing! I started scanning the skies and quickly found a signal. I locked the wagon into place and started digging. Darn! I was on G14 and had my polarities backwards. So I switched things around and quickly found Spike TV. Locked the wagon in place for optimal signal, changed to even TP's, and set the skew for optimal signal. Un hooked the temp cable from the CBand dish and hooked it into the one of my diseqc ports on my 90cm/18in pole. I started the scan and found exactly what I was looking for. 4180 at 79% quality on the Fortec. The Outdoor Channel 2 HD is awesome! Excellent picture quality and AC-3 sound to boot!
The dish is at a pretty high angle right now, the wind might knock it over but oh well I had fun finding it. I'm thrilled to know I have LOS to it too. One of these days when it's cooler(October maybe?) and I have some funds, I'll sink this thing and put the motor on it.
Don't worry....you can laugh. I know I'm still laughing everytime I walk by the backdoor and see this thing.

Sorry.... I had to resize the 1920X1080 pictures because they were simply too large.
