How things have changed

can't wait to get our roku ultimates in the mail tomorrow:).. that should be fun!!! better streaming boxes are coming out that support wifi 6. yttv has been smooth and flawless for us ;):). i remember trying directv now when they were giving the apple t.v. away. i can't even say what an utter disater that was:shh crashing all the time and buffering...

I am happy with my Roku Ultra. I note that my TV, AVR and the Ultra seem to take the better part of a minute to finish handshaking. Not sure who's the culprit.

Weird. I never had any issues with DirecTV Now and the Apple TV.

Yes to both. Roku Ultra 4850.

Everything gets turned on via HDMI CEC.
ah ok then we love the new roku. it's blazing fast no slow load times or buffering :). i think i turned the CEC off will have to check. though the dtv remote would shut the tv and the box off the roku remote won't it justs turns them on:coco. bought 3 more for sunday ticket:)

CEC might fix your problem or it might not, and it might create other problems. It is a poorly implemented "standard." I have an Insignia TV that will turn on with CEC, but not turn off.
we have sonys and every other remote will turn it off other than the roku. i think i'll try to re pair em later on. i'll have to go into settings and make sure everything is as it should be also.

I have CEC disabled on two of my three Sonys due to issues. I use sideclick remote add-ons to give me a few extra programmable buttons to do the things that don't happen automatically because CEC is off:

It is a hack, but it is reliable once my wife got used to it.

Now team owned RSNs are starting to shut down, ROOT is going bye bye.

The main reason, cord cutting, not enough subscribers paying the per sub fee-

The decline in ROOT Sports' subscriber base has been stark. In 2014, the network boasted 3.3 million subscribers, but by 2024, that number had plummeted to just 1.2 million.
