MLB 2008 Season

After 1 month...the Marlins are NOT ONLY significant....but a fun team to watch! Too bad the south Florida fans don't get give a rats ass about it.....:(

That is a shame. What else do those retirees have to do with themselves?! You'd figure "America's Pastime" would thrive in a state with a ton of old folks! ;)

Miami is very young.....And south broward just the same. The issue is....south florida is an area of that consists of approx. 40% LOCALS and about 60% of people that moved from somewhere else. And the team has VERY LITTLE history. I mean they have only been around since 1993. AND this will ALWAYS be a Dolphins town.....too many years of NO OTHER pro sports team other than the Dolphins.

....but how many cities can claim 2 world series championship in the last 10 years?:D

Red Wings have HOW MANY YEARS of existance? And the Red Sox.....with ALL that money and almost 100 years head start?

And not to mention that loooong stretch in between titles that lasted almost the whole 20th century.... Better late than never?

As for my beloved Red Wings... I sure like their chances this season.

Rangers are starting to look like a baseball team.

Did anyone see the brawl last night between them and Seattle? Sexton is a jerk....

My Reds are in the same boat and it's sinking fast.

Well, I hope your boat doesn't bottom out on my sunken Pirates schooner. I'm sure it's probably very decomposed by now.

LMAO!! I post everywhere....you are knew to the area.....I am usually the one everyone either agrees with or disagrees with....there is very little inbetween for some reason....;)

I don't agree. ;):D

Congratulations goes out to Tribe starter, Cliff Lee, for earning recognition for AL Pitcher of the Month for April.
Lee went 4-0, 0.28 ERA and had a .109 batting average against him in the month of April!

AL pitchers who won their first four appearances and had sub-1.00 ERA in the last 20 years, along with how they finished their respective season.........

Year/ Pitcher/ ERA

1991/ Roger Clemens (Red Sox)/ 0.28 ERA/ Finished with 18 wins, 2.62 ERA and was the Cy Young winner that Year.
1992/ Bill Krueger (Twins)/ 0.84 ERA/ Finished with 10 wins and a 4.30 ERA.
1995/ Tim Wakefield (Red Sox)/ 0.54 ERA/ Finished with 16 wins, won comeback player of the year and finished 3rd in the Cy Young vote.
2008/ Cliff Lee (Indians)/ 0.28 ERA/ Finish TBD

Be ready for that team ERA to go up this weekend. Beware Great American Ballpark! :shocked
