New open source image for all models of Azbox

Here is a new open source software which seems to be quite stable. I have just installed and it seems to work fine and according to tests by others it seems to be the best so far and is very fast. OpenRSi - OpenPLI for AZBox

Regarding this new SW, did you had to upload the sat list to it or does it keep all the sats? is blind scan working? did you upload the SW by wifi or you have to connect a cable from your computer to the box or USB?

This software is almost the same as Enigma2 except the name but is open source. The procedure is almost the same as installing Enigma on your Original Azbox firmware. Detailed tutorials are on thier website. I installed it on Azbox Me so I used the web interface (Wifi) but you can use USB key too. You may also install it in a USB key. If you are in the US you may have to resan your satellites or load what you ahve saved. In Europe there are several dozens of plugins already available. You just have to insert your coordinates on your USALS. There is no blind scan at the moment but I understand it will be available for the boxes with harware blindsan Premium +, Me and miniMe very soon since they have nightly builds.

No because is identical to Enigam2 except for the fact that is more stable and there are nightly builds. Therefore corrections partly based on users bug tracking are update online. This way, bugs are corrected quicker.

I'm keeping my eyes on this new software. I'm expecting my AzBox Me to arrive in a few days.

IMHO, its probably better now than OFW although there is a learning curve and I'd probably wait just a bit longer until a few more bugs are ironed out.

I have done zero research on this, but isn't there a toshiba tuner that fits that second slot that has a hardware blindscan? Could the mavens make that work?

Being open source, anything is possible but I'd be skeptical that it would give your Elite blindscan capabilities.

I downloaded and installed this on the AZBox Me late last night . I Will have to test it out this weekend.

I installed both OpenRSI and Enigma II on my Ultra and no 4:2:2 HD or h.264 HD when tested on CBS and ABC/NBC...not to mention flakey to non existent component output. The menus on the HDMI output is sharp tho....

Are you using switches on your setup and if so do does work with any of the software you mentioned?

I'm using a combination of DiSEqC 1.1 and 22khz switches and from what I've tested with it they are working fine....

curious but are you able to get the 4:2:2 HD-GDMX feeds on 99w?

Hey chewie. As asked in another thread about the sat lists all versions of AZBox E2 software use 1 .xml file unlike the AZBox orginal firmware which uses more than one. In E2 the satellite/transponder config data are all combined into this one .xml file. As for satellite lists I downloaded a North American sat .xml sat file from here satellites.xml generator / transponder .ini generator and put it into the E2 etc/tuxbox folder using Maz 3.2. Then reboot the receiver. Just remember this file won't have all the current North American Satellites and channels cause it comes from Europe but at least it will have the satellites themselves. You'll have to blindscan for the latest TP's and channels.

Where's the blind scan option located on OpenRSI?
