DIRECTV receivers are also varied; legacy, HD and SWiM-only. Which one are you dealing with? In any case, a Shaw dish cannot be used to receive DIRECTV HD programming.

Shaw LNB is KU Band (11.7-12.2) so even if he has the original flashlight LNB the frequencies dont match Even the new LNB (that gets AnikG1) is below that (11.2-11.7)
