ViP 211's

Hey everyone, I have read some reviews and forums about the ViP211's been kind of junky and having bugs. Is this still the case or are the new ViP211 receivers that are being sold new or leased from Dish good to use now?

Thanks for any answers! I ask because I'm getting ready to buy 4 of them and dont want to pay the money and be upset.

I got my leased VIP211 back in Oct., and I have no problems with it.

I have a 211 and am not having any problems either. I think they got most of the software bugs fixed....so far, until the next update

Mine has been pretty stable, had some issues locking on 129 but it was more of a dish aiming issue ...

I went through 2 of them early on before I got one that worked. First one overheated and rebooted every 5 minutes. Second one HDMI wouldn't work. My current one seems to be fine except sometimes the switch gets confused and says signal was lost even though it hasn't. This problem started with the l434 update. Or maybe my switch is going bad. I don't know? But it always works when I go into the system status screen.
If your buying them New w/warranty I wouldn't worry about it because you can always send them back to DISH for replacment. I DID.

Mine's been working fine since I got it. Do you have a reason for buying rather than leasing? You still have to pay the monthly fee.

well I dont want to buy them, but Dish wont give you more then 2 to lease with their promotional offer. So I am leasing 2 and will have to buy 2. The dual tuners wont work bc i have 4 hd tv's.

Consider leasing two 722's and purchasing the other 211's. Once you try a DVR you will never go back.
