Welcome to our new DirecTV Technical Discussions forum :)

As HDTV & DVRshas become mainstream, we no longer need a dedicated HD or DVR forum. That change looming, we've created a technical forum for more advanced discussion than what should be used in the general forum.

For the start of this, we renamed the DVR forum, and then manually moved threads in or out covering the past 10 days or so. The posts from the HD forum were merged into the general forum.

Here are some ideas of topics to consider for the technical forum:

  • Software updates (notes / discussion)
  • Hardware configs (switches, SWM, dishes, etc)
  • Upcoming technology and satellites (D12)
  • Channel maps / transponder guides
  • Networking (media share, vod)
  • Anything else considered technical :)

Thanks for being SatelliteGuys!

My RCA Direct TV Receiver cratered. I think it is the power supply. I use it in a motorhome with a tracking satellite system. Any ideas on where I can find a used replacement receiver? The old one was an RCA model drd0435rh model with a low speed data port. I'm under the impression the newer receivers will not work with the older tracking satellite antennas????

I have Directv w/dual LNB feeding Aspen 3X4 multiswitch. I receive odd No. Transponders at 90+ and negative transponders at Zero.. I switch the inputs to the multiswitch and get Zero on the odd and 90+ on the even. It is the same on both receivers. I receive both odd and even one at a time no both odd an even at the same time. What is going on?

Sounds like a bad cable or connector coming from the LNB to the multiswitch.
