Congratulations to Pudge on catching his 2000th game. How does this guy get out of bed every morning? He seems to get hammered behind the plate every game. His body has got to be one giant bruise.Definitely the toughest player in the game today. 100% effort every play, everyday. This man is the heart & soul of Detroit baseball. Smartest thing Dombrowski ever did was signing this man. It all started with signing Pudge. It's a pure pleasure watching this guy play the game.

It's about time Monroe hit the bench. That guy is in a serious slump. Bullpen was solid last night, especially nice to see Jones have a 3rd straight 1-2-3 outing.

Monroe has been out for a few games, I actually think he's coming out of it.

Zumaya is ahead of schedule, they say now it's going to be late July early August.
That will change Dombrowski's plans for upgrading the bullpen.
I'd still like to see them bring in a bonafide closer.

Ya know, I've been watching Pudge play.
He's got a decient BA and plays great D*, but something just seems missing.
I guess maybe he doesn't seem to be getting the clutch hits , at least that I'm seeing.

Tigers call up Of Rayburn from Toledo. An outfielder has to go. Any speculation as to whom? I suspect a trade in the offing, possibly Monroe?

Verlander returns to form yesterday afternoon,and the Tigers lay a wood shampoo on Sabathia. Bring on Boston, were hitting them at the right time in their rotation,missing Schilling and Beckett.

Yeah, I could really use a Kowalski sausage and Stroh's beer...just not sure if Kowalski's is still around, and I am sure the fire brewing has long been removed from Stroh's. Anyway, work has really picked-up the past couple months but I am still trying to get away for a week toward the end of the month.

Thames is making the most of his time in the starting lineup. In another park, he would have left the yard 3 times yesterday. Andy Miller's stuff was phenominal also. That kid has amazing movement on everything he throws. Maybe a coincidence, but bullpen has sharp since the return of Mr. Rogers. Bondo up tonight, and I expect he will show again why he should have been on the all star team.

You noticed the improvement when Mr. Rogers got back too !!!!
I think he has a calming influence on the staff.
For all the negative that he's been known for, he sure has done well for us, with no extra curricular problems.

I think he will someday (IF he retires) be a great pitching coach.

I used to come back with several cases of Molson Brador years ago, but I haven't seen it in ages. The only items I still bring back with me are Vernor's ginger ale, Faygo Red Pop, and Baklawa from Shatila. I was really upset when Sander's went out of business. It was an insult when some company revived the Sander's name...only to make a buttercreme cake that didn't take anything like the original. Well, it looks like we will be heading your way the morning of the 21st. The Tiger's have a day game with KC on the 22nd, but I will don't think I'll be up for a game after the drive and my recent work-load...a couple days of R&R and spending time with family are on my priority list.

I have StarChoice and just noticed the game is going to be on Fox Detroit. I sure hope it's in HD, but they are still showing the Yankees vs Angels in extra innings (12th).

Yankees were listed on 95, the Tigers are on 94.
FWIW, I am blacked out of the game on 94 anyways, so seeing I cannot get NESN I will once again watch in SD whle also keeping an eye on the Nascar race, 8pm on TNT, in HD.

PUDGE! Jimbo, was that one of those big hits Pudge doesn't seem to get as much? Big win , proof that we can play small ball and win. Team has reached my goals for the last 2 series (2 out of 3), but a sweep sure would be sweet. And yes Jimbo, Mr. Rogers would make a great pitching coach.

The only game that FOX2 has done in HD was opening day - and that is because they aired the FSN feed without distributing to the network of affiliates.

FSN produces the FOX2 games, they could do HD if they wanted to, but for some reason they aren't. A shame too, with most of the weekend games OTA this year.
