Detroit Tigers

PUDGE! Jimbo, was that one of those big hits Pudge doesn't seem to get as much? Big win , proof that we can play small ball and win. Team has reached my goals for the last 2 series (2 out of 3), but a sweep sure would be sweet. And yes Jimbo, Mr. Rogers would make a great pitching coach.

GO TIGERS!!!

My only problem with that, how many times did they have a runner at 3rd with less than two outs, and not score. 3 or 4 times before the 12th.

I was at the game, and by the second time they blew an opportunity in the extra innings that stadium was near silent. What was impressive is that there were still 30,000+ when the game ended in the 13th.

The scoreboard said it was the 2nd largest crowd in park history. They sold a ton of standing room tickets, every nook & cranny in the park was full.

Yes,
That was one of those hits he hasn't been getting.
He use to be a .320 hitter until he got here.
He is doing better than it seems, at least to me.

Are you watching todays game on 94 in HD ?
Mine is currently blacked out on 94 as was yesterday.
IF I had the MLB package, would I be getting this game ?

Jeez, Jimbo, cut the guy some slack, I mean 2000 games at the most brutal position in baseball. Just one question. Would you rather have someone else at catcher?

How about Granderson's catch. I just about sh*t myself. WOW!
And how about Thames's shot? 440 feet dead center.
What's up with the 5 errors yesterday. I'll take the sweep, and some of the players will take a mini-vacation. I hope Granderson enjoys this break, I don't think he will see another one for quite a few seasons. Should have been in San Fran this year. What a talent.

Yes Paul,
You seem to think I have something against Pudge, I do not ... I am very happy he's here.
Granderson's catch was fabulous... as for the All Star voting, give him a few more years, once his bat becomes more consistant he'll be in the group with the best of his era. He's doing real well this year, I think people want to see him do it again.

Best CF in MY lifetime, Griffy Jr., if Granderson continues to play that way, they will start comparing them when it comes to Defense.

What a shot by Thames :)

JUSTIN VERLANDER's No Hitter

For all you Tigers fans ...
FSN will show the replay of Verlander's NO Hitter on Wensday night, in case anyone missed it.

I had been thinking that it appeared that the Tigers have LOST the 1st game of their series most of the time .... then winning from there.
However after looking at the schedule, they are actually at .500 for the year for winning and losing the first game of a series.

So that said, the Tigers are a .500 team playing the 1st game and much better in the rest of the series.
I makes it really hard to sweep series, to pull ahead of other teams, if they only win 50 % of the 1st games.

Anyone fond this interesting like I did ?

Sheffield steals HOME! I knew we were getting a great hitter, but I never would thought he was going to lead the team in steals, isn't this guy 39, 40 years old?Verlander continues his march to a possible Cy Young award, and the bullpen finally blinks after 16 innings of shutout ball.

Paul,
Sheff is currently 38 .

Granderson earned his first player-of-the-week award yesterday. More amazing is that he's leading the league in extrabase hits. Phenominal talent, I hope he plays here forever. Twinkies in town tonight. Sure would be nice to put some distance between us and them. I fear them more than Cleveland, especially after they came back from 15 games last year.

I See Grandy in RIGHT in the future, Maybin May be here next year, if not, There is no way they can keep him down past 08. What a tandem that will be. I know he plays great out there, but Maybin is touted the CF'er of the future.

As for the Twinkies, we are not hosting we are going there, and we won't get to avoid Santana either:(

We hit Santana hard last time around.

Your right about Maybin, I'm hoping the Tigers move him up to Triple A soon .... unfortunatly the Tigers have a way of NOT bringing them to Toledo and us in town just watch them pass us by, this has been happening the last several years. I have seen most of the somewhat older Tigers players that have came to town.

Inge, Monroe, Maroth, Shelton, Granderson, Zumaya, ect., there have been plenty, but they also have bypassed us plenty of times
