Long time lurker, first time poster.
I currently have a 508 DVR, with I believe a legacy Dish 500 2 dish set up (Dish 1 gets 119 and 110 with SW21 switches and dish 2 gets 148.)
What I a looking for is a standard definition dual channel DVR receiver for use on one TV, so I could record 1 channel and watch another or record 2 channels at the same time
I was thinking the 625 would work, but was told by customer service rep that the tuners had to go to two separate TV's. My question was since my TV has 2 tuners plus multiple RCA inputs, as does my home theater receiver why couldn't I send the ouputs from the two tuners to the different inputs on my TV and then switch on the TV (or receiver) between the two? Am I missing something here?
Also my wife is not wild about the idea of a second cable going around the house for the 2nd tuner. I thought I read that if I had a new Dish set up one cable could be used and then split to go both tuners of the 625. If this is the case would E* likely be willing to upgrade my dishes for this to work? If there would be an additional charge any idea how much that would be.
Lastly if I'm totally all wet with my idea above, is there another solution that would do what I want?
I would appreciate any advice you can give.
