and i agree if that was the case they would shut down all older dvrs ,
well nether less dish should of helped there coustmers better in my eyes its still cuse of tivo
I just wish dish came up with better plan for customers owning these receivers instead of basically screwing them formally. I got lucky and got 3 out of my 5 replaced with out leasing from them at almost no cost. I still stuck with 2
Ignore Microsoft and any FUD that they might spread about not having their "support".Please tell Microsoft that will you. I have to buy a new computer and operating system because the old one with Win98 on it needs a part replaced, but I cannot reinstall Win98 because the fixes are no longer available, and the rest of the unit won't run Vista.
No, the user base is the issue. Remember the 50x series use the same code, and there are far more of them in the field than the x21 series.
right so not for tivo lawsuiet thed be running and yes 811 is shut down ------- call it what ever you would like.. code etc.. dish had tons cosutmers that had 721,921,811,942,7200,7100 expecaly combined all shut down now.. Between them it was more than enough to keep suporting them.. If was not for lawsuiet or tivo complaining they would be still in usedelete the 811 from your list
and check from beginning of the thread: TiVo lawsuit has been mentioned all the times
If was not for lawsuiet or tivo complaining they would be still in use![]()
just wondering, when did you call ? Did they replace it for you ? With what and is it owened > thanks in advance..I just wanted to update the post with how things turned out for me. It turns out that waiting wasn't a bad strategy. The CEO group treated me very well, and I'm a very happy Dish customer again.
After the new hardware install, the tech took my 721 with him. I had just enough time to transfer the things I wanted to keep to DVD.
No hard feelings after losing the 721.

DISH - TiVO Case: Stay granted pending appealSo far, only one real reason exist - TiVo lawsuit.
ok lol there was never suiet, dish shut them down cause of being old ok lol
But it does have the word "suet".The English language has no such word as "suiet"
right so now u agree for what i been saying all along , it started cause of tivo, so bottom line is if was not for tv theyed be up and usable. they could of use them for mpeg3 if they wanted toosay what?
I guess you meant "was never a suit", and I never claimed that.
What I said was that without the suit Dish would have shut down the 721 anyway, because of the limited number in the field not justifying the high support costs.
I also posited (look that one up if you need to) that in the absence of the TiVo suit, Dish would have moved to the new encryption sooner and thus shut down the 721 sooner.
