2010 NCAA Football Season

But when you are THE top propect in ALL of high school at QB, you intention are to be an NFL QB.....not to be a nice QB in college. And he has not shown he is a good enough QB at the next level.

It is one thing to be a good recruit QB out of no where. It's ANOTHER to be THE most recruit QB in the entire country.

Personally, I think this Best QB in the country is blown WAY out of proportion.

He never should have been considered the best when he could not throw the ball when he got here.

Yeah, uh...there are a number of outstanding NFL QB's who did not do much in their college careers before they became juniors, let alone seniors.

Name some QBs that "did not do much" and are "outstanding NFL QBs". I am curios about your list.

Tebow will most likely be a better college QB than Terrell Pryor. I'm talking about NFL prospects.

Tebow has already done more that Pryor will more than likely EVER do in his college career. Unless he he win the next two Heismans, goes undefeated for the rest of his college career AND wins two straight BCS national championships....ah, yeah, that is a pretty safe assumption. LOL!

Donovan McNabb was not a drop back passer in college, nor was Vince Young or many other successful NFL quarterbacks. That is not the only criteria needed. I'm talking about Troy Smith's actual tool set, not the type of quarterback he was.

You are only half right on this one:

- He initially leaned toward attending Nebraska, as he relished the idea of being coached by Tom Osborne. Eventually, however, he decided to attend Syracuse, principally because he wanted to prove he was a competent "pocket passer" -

Sorry, WAY off on that one:

Manning completed his degree in three years, and was projected to be the top overall pick in the NFL Draft, but returned to Tennessee for his senior year.

There is NO WAY, MOST QB can go from a good QB to a GREAT QB in one season.....you either HAVE it for the next level or you don't.

Tom Brady is a TOP QB in the NFL, he STUNK in college.
He barely started even.

I personally will watch this year and see where Pryor ends up, he'll either progress and turn into a very reliable QB, or he won't and he'll step back and regress.

Wait, you're going to wait until he plays his junior year BEFORE you comment on his junior year? There's a NOVEL concept! ;)

Sandra

Where were any of us saying that he should come out ?

WHO compared him to TEBOW anyways, thats YOUR comparison ?

Troy Smith was slightly better than Terrelle coming into his Jr. season, not a whole lot, still wanted to run first and throw second.

I personally will watch this year and see where Pryor ends up, he'll either progress and turn into a very reliable QB, or he won't and he'll step back and regress. I don't see him regressing, but he could, I'm sure every time he has a bad throw or play the haters will be out full force.

IF he regresses this year, it will be a very painful next few years.

Thank you for bringing common sense and accuracy to this discussion. :up

For the sake of accuracy, HD said sophomore year and your post reflects what was said about Peyton Manning after his junior year. HUGE difference. ;)

Sandra

And for the sake of reading comprehension, that is why I stated in the same f'n post:

There is NO WAY, MOST QB can go from a good QB to a GREAT QB in one season.....you either HAVE it for the next level or you don't.

But I am sure you forgot to read THAT part of the post....

Salsa, I think you're missing the jist of this conversation. None of us (Buckeye fans) are crowning Terrelle Pryor yet, nor are we predicting success at the NFL level.

What we ARE saying is that it is WAY TOO DARN EARLY to make a call one way or the other though!

Stunk?

- Brady battled for the starting job with Drew Henson, ultimately starting every game in the 1998 and 1999 seasons under Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. During his first full year as starter, he set Michigan records for most pass attempts and completions in a season (214). Brady was All-Big Ten (honorable mention) both seasons and team captain his senior year. -

Hey, why not do a little Terrell Pryor bashing before your team travels up there to play him? Let's change the tune and pick apart Jacory Harris for a little while. Oh wait...nobody cares about Jarory Harris. ;)

Sandra

You can. You are more than welcome to. But if you DIDN'T care, why bring him up? Huh? LOL!

OK I'm not the huge google and wikipedia fan you are, so let's just say if you think there are no good NFL quarterbacks who had not proven anything by the time they were sophomores, we are just going to have to agree to disagree.

Tebow has already done more that Pryor will more than likely EVER do in his college career. Unless he he win the next two Heismans, goes undefeated for the rest of his college career AND wins two straight BCS national championships....ah, yeah, that is a pretty safe assumption. LOL!

Yes, that's why I said it. But the whole conversation you started was regarding Terrell Pryor's NFL prospects, so that point is moot.

Wikipedia? Seriously?

And my point from the beginning was....the reason he more than likely stated he would stay is because more than likely everyone told him that unless he is at Ohio State for an education...he would be foolish to even think of coming out of college early. ;) THAT was my 1st post about Pryor. But seeing that you Ohio State fans take ANYTHING that is no bend down worshiping as a personal attack...well, nothing I can do about that.

Ok I stand corrected in a point spread... 10 points 14 points.. two scores either way... and no I'm not "backtracking" I just don't wish to argue it so I'm unsure as to why your wanting to argue this so much? I'm no Miami fan either, I'm just picking who's going to win based on stats and other information we have currently. Now, things may change based on injuries and whatever between now and then and that's fine...no biggy.

Not arguing, just wanted to get the facts straight. You came in here and ruffled feathers by making such a bold statement that Miami would steamroll Ohio State in their own stadium and I just wanted to make note of this so I can have a good laugh in September.

PS. what "stats" do you have currently that lead you to this bold prediction?

Yes, Brady STUNK.

Believe me when I tell you, fans of The U have had this game circled on the calendar for a VERY long time. Hence me stating that I WISH Ohio State was ranked #1.;)

Bring it. We like beating up Hurricanes.

No need to pick him apart. ;)

Sandra

Why? You afraid you much desired trophy QB might not have the stats to match up? The stats are pretty much similar. So if you put down a QB that has the same stats as your much over hyped QB, on a much better team...then that makes your QB...ah...as bad as you think Jacroy is? LOL!!
