He managed to double his ERA ....

About that Cincy staff that doesn't bother you ....

And losing ALL 3 games.

The Indians don't seem to produce runs against anyone. Our strength is our pitching and the Red's got the best of us this weekend. Chances are, if the opposing team can score more than 3 runs off our staff, we will most likely lose. Unfortunately though, our bullpen blew the first two games of this series for us with no fault to our starters.....

That is very sad but true.....that has nothing to do with whether they are in 1st place or not. Too many transported Floridians, not enough history and a crappy stadium to play baseball in has alot to do with it.

They have the best record in baseball, but they are definitely not the best team. They overachieved last year (they were outscored by their opponents and were average in just about every category) and they are overachieving this year. They are finally coming down to reality.

"overachieving" for 2 straight years is called a very good team. And besides, the West Division is not VERY good, they are better than all the teams there...MOST if not ALL the teams in the Central...and more than likely, better than most teams in the East.

The DBacks have not overachieved for 2 years, they have only overachieved for a little over 1 year (1 and 1/4 years). Now they are finally coming down to reality, and they will not finish the year in first place.

Now as far as the West goes. They were predicted to be one of the best divisions with only the Giants not having a chance. This year the Rockies and the Padres are much better teams than their records indicate and the DBacks are not quite as good as their record indicates.

Every team last year, except the Giants had a winning record and the WC came out of the west after a 1 game playoff with another team in the same division.

Anybody else following the Josh Hamilton story in Texas? Former #1 pick, falls into heroin addiction, out of baseball for 3 years, was labeled a "can't miss" prospect. Now he's tearing up the American League, and maybe a triple crown candidate.
